Hitlerjugend
Part 3: NCOs and Officers
There are several exceptions with what was put in part one and two, which are applicable to NCOs and officers only.

Weapons
NCOs and officers may carry holstered pistols.
P08 Luger P08 Luger Hardshell Holster
P38 P38 Soft Leather Holster P38 Hard Leather Holster
Please take note that the soft leather holster was seldom seen and therefore we prefer that the P38 hard Leather Holster is worn.

MP40
Only the rank of Unterscharfuhrer, and above, are allowed to use an MP40 and wear the MP40 ammo pouches.

Tunic
NCO's from the rank of Unterscharführer may wear the M36 tunic.

Crusher Caps
'Crusher' caps are only to be worn by NCOs, but not during battle. This starts from the rank of Sturmmann. The insignia on it must be cloth. Officers may wear service caps with metal insignia. Metal ones were originally intended for the Schirmmutze, which has a Vulcan fibre peak and a chin strap.

How to crusher my Crusher
1) Create an opening in the cap lining. Best place to do is the back of you cap.

2) You pull out all the foam via the created gap.

3) Re-stitch the gap.

4) Pour hot TAP water in the middle of your cap. Make sure that you do not wet the cardboard on the side! Make all of the cloth on the top wet and either let the water sip through the cloth, or use a cup to remove the water.

5) Squeeze the water out of the cloth and then immediately put the cap n you head. Then grip the end of the top cloth and pull the cloth backward. Also pull the sides down. Continue until you think it looks ok.

6) Gently remove the cap of from your head and let it dry. Dry your head as well or you'll catch a cold. Hey presto, you're done!

Jackboots
Marschstiefel
Jackboots were seldom seen in the HJ and we portray 'the rule' rather than 'the exception'.
Jackboots are only worn by senior NCOs (Unterscharfuhrer and above).

NCOs and officers may also wear any of the items as listed for enlisted men, i.e. normal Grenadiers.

We hope that the above is clear and is intended to make the 12th. SS element within Kompanie 1 as uniform and authentic as possible, given that there are many permutations listed above.
Please feel free to contact any other members if you are unsure about any of the above. For specific details phone, e-mail or ask the Authenticity Co-ordinator.
There are certain exceptions, which can be discussed with the group leadership if necessary.
